A brief postgame from Target Field

The Twins - in a shocker - lose to the Yankees

August 20, 2011 at 2:38PM

Jason Repko was shaking hands in the clubhouse after the game. No he wasn't traded.

Repko, who is on the disabled list with bursitis in his left shoulder, is headed to Class AAA Rochester to begin a rehab assignment. Eventually, the Twins will have another healthy body to choose from. Repko has been out since Aug.11.

Other stuff

  • The Yankees' Mark Teixeira now has 1,000 career RBI
    • The Twins are now 19-61 against the Yankees, including the playoffs, since Ron Gardenhire took over as manager.
      • Kevin Slowey has given up 74 homers in 83 career starts. He's averaging .1.42 homers per nine innings since the start of 2007. He entered the night second in baseball during that time.
        • Trevor Plouffe has 21 homers this year - six with the Twins, 15 at Rochester. And, if you haven't noticed, he likes the high ones.
          • Miguel Sano and Eddie Rosario continue to tear up the Appalachian League. Rosario hit two homers and Sano added a solo shot to lead Elizabethton to a 12-7 win. Sano leads the league with 16 homers, but Rosario now has 15.
