Tetons National Park Destination Details: I was on an Arizona Highways Photo Workshop as a Volunteer Photo Guide to the Grand Tetons in June of 2017. The day before the workshop started a friend and I went to Oxbow Bend to shot at sunrise, around 5:00am. The clouds were hanging low across the mountains and steam was coming from the lake. Some Pelicans flew by at the time I took the shot. The place: Oxbow Bend in the Grand Tetons is one of the top places and the

THE Traveler: David Halgrimson of Rogers.

The scene: A bank of clouds cuts across a tranquil scene at Oxbow Bend, an overlook in Grand Teton National Park that takes in Mount Moran and a wide span of the Snake River.

Destination details: "Grand Teton National Park has a long history starting back in 1929. There is much to see and explore in the park, where wonderful landscapes and wildlife abound," Halgrimson wrote in an e-mail. "Grand Teton National Park is one of the national parks everyone should have on their bucket list of places to visit. I have been to many national parks and stunning photographic places, and the Grand Tetons is at the top of my favorite places."

The shot: Halgrimson was there to volunteer as a guide for an Arizona Highways Photo Workshop. The day before the workshop, he and a friend drove to Oxbow Bend at sunrise. "I had not been to this location before and everything about being there was exciting — the morning sun hitting the mountains, the reflection, the ducks swimming and the pelicans flying through made for an absolute 'Oh, wow', feeling," he wrote.

The Equipment: Panasonic Lumix GX8 with a 60mm Olympus lens.
