Anoka County authorities are looking for the driver of a pickup truck that struck and critically injured a 9-year-old boy who was riding his bike Wednesday night in Coon Rapids.

The boy was hit while in the intersection of 111th Avenue and Kumquat Street near Moor Park. He suffered massive head injuries and is listed in critical condition at North Memorial Medical Center in Robbinsdale, according to the Anoka County Sheriff's Office.

"It's not known if the child will survive," a statement from the Sheriff's Office said.

The driver, who didn't stop, is described as a white man in his late 20s to early 30s with short blond hair and a "scraggly," unshaven face. The full-size Chevrolet is black or dark-colored with an extended cab and two doors. The truck had on it a "Z" followed by an unknown number. The driver's side was damaged and the side mirror was dangling.

Anyone with information should call the Anoka County Sheriff's Office at 763-421-4760.
