Monday's morning rush saw a little fog and wet roads. The afternoon drive home could be a bit more tricky as a weather system moving in will bring rain and snow.

Problems were few and far between, but an early morning wreck on southbound 35W tangled traffic in Minneapolis. A truck and three vehicles collided in the 35 MPH curve near Franklin Avenue around 6:50 a.m. blocked the right lane and led to a big back up. For about 30 minutes, traffic was crammed as far back as Stinson Blvd.

Westbound 94 drivers were held up by a stall in the center lane at Johnson Pkwy. about the same time. That was short lived and traffic recovered nicely. By 8 a.m. the trip from Manning Avenue into downtown St. Paul was at its usual 15 minutes.

The Cayuga Bridge was a trouble spot for northbound 35E commuters. Three crashes during the early commute led to a traffic jam that formed at I-94. By 7:50 a.m., all the carnage was moved out of the way and traffic returned to normal speeds.

A little congestion on the westbound Crosstown from 28th Avenue over to 35W added a few minutes to the drive during the middle of the rush hour. Eastbound traffic slowed from France to 35W.

I'll be back Tuesday with more live traffic reports. Until then, drive safe and keep the headlights on as precip moves in.
