Late rush hour commuters on northbound 35W are still feeling the effects of an earlier crash that created a nasty bottleneck that persisted most of the morning. Just after 7:15 a.m., a car and semitrailer truck collided on the downtown exits. The car laneded in the ditch and the semi came to rest on the right shoulder.

In such a busy area, it was not a surprise that traffic jammed all the way back to the Crosstown Commons. And even after the wreck was cleaned up, congestion persisted.

Eastbound 94 drivers hit a snag between 6:50 a.m. and 7:30 a.m. as wrecks at Weaver Lake Road and then at Hwy. 101 made the commute longer than usual. Once those incidents cleared, traffic was back to freeway speeds.

Elsewhere, the drive was uneventful, something all commuters can appreciate. A little congestion on the westbound Crosstown from 35W to Hwy. 100 and spurts of slow and go traffic on both directions of Hwy. 169 from Bloomington to Brooklyn Park added a few minutes to the drive.

That's it for today. I'll be back Friday with more traffic reports.

As an eviction crisis has seemed increasingly likely this summer, everyone in the housing market has made the same plea to Washington: Send money — lots of it — that would keep renters in their homes and landlords afloat.
