The calm commute came to a violent end just before 9 a.m. when an 18-wheeler rolled over on northbound Hwy. 169 at County Road 18. The overturned truck and several vehicles collided, leaving wreckage blocking both lanes.

MnDOT says it could be two hours before the scene is clear.

Traffic is being diverted off onto County Road 21. This would be a great time to exit on Canterbury Road and go up to Hwy. 101.

The ramp from County Road 18 to northbound 169 is closed. The left lane of southbound 169 is also closed.

Until then, the commute had been fairly routine with only minor congestion and a handful of crashes.
