The rain was the big story for Friday's commute as it likely was the factor in several spin outs with the worst being a rollover crash on southbound 35W at County Road 23 in Lino Lakes.

In New Hope, a wreck on southbound Hwy. 169 at 36th Avenue tied up traffic for nearly an hour, and that had a backup to near I-94. That cleared about 8:30 a.m. Traffic is still tight in the immediate area.

Also in New Hope, the intersection of County Road 9, also known as 42nd Avenue, is flooded out and closed. Many cases of flooded intersections were reported across the metro, with low-lying intersections particularly bad.

The other big news is the road closures that will be phased in throughout the weekend in downtown Minneapolis due to the All-Star Game festivities. See my earlier blog post to get the lowdown.
