Compared to Tuesday, this morning's rush was a mild one with motorists enjoying dry roads and no major delays.

Exit and entrance ramps proved to be icy as at least three rollovers occurred. One was on the ramp from County 42 in Burnsville to northbound 35W. A second forced MnDOT to temporarily shut down the ramp from Zane Avenue to eastbound Hwy. 610.

At current, the big problem spot is up on 694. A crash at Silver Lake Road has westbound traffic inching along from 35W.

Our other crashes include:

  • Southbound 494 at Hwy. 55 in the left lane
    • Southbound 35W at Broadway on the right shoulder
      • Westbound Hwy. 36 on the right shoulder at Lexington Avenue
        • Eastbound 494 at Hwy. 100 in Bloomington on the left shoulder.

Stay tuned for Thursday if the predicted weather rolls in. It could be a dicey time on the roads. Be sure to follow the Drive for morning traffic reports.

As an eviction crisis has seemed increasingly likely this summer, everyone in the housing market has made the same plea to Washington: Send money — lots of it — that would keep renters in their homes and landlords afloat. It’s too soon to tell how much the immigration crackdown is to blame.
