By far, the worst traffic of the morning was on northbound Hwy. 169 and at this hour there is still near gridlock conditions from Canterbury Road past Old Shakopee Road.

That's causing traffic on westbound Hwy. 13 to stack up in as drivers try to get onto Hwy. 169. To the east, eastbound Hwy. 13 has road construction at Hwy. 5.

A crash on northbound 35 at County Road 46 is the second of the morning there. Ahead, things jam up from Crosstown to downtown Minneapolis. Two earlier crashes on that stretch led to delays and things have not recovered.

Look for road work on University Avenue today between Central Avenue and 27th Ave. NE. A repaving project will result in intermittent lane closures over the next couple of weeks.

And Hwy. 3 from Ann Marie Trail to 80th Street is closed until Aug. 11 for road repair.

As an eviction crisis has seemed increasingly likely this summer, everyone in the housing market has made the same plea to Washington: Send money — lots of it — that would keep renters in their homes and landlords afloat.
