85th Avenue to close from County 81 to Jefferson

November 8, 2008 at 3:26AM

Traffic will be banned Monday night on 85th Avenue between County Road 81 and Jefferson Memorial Highway, on the border of Brooklyn Park and Osseo. Vehicles will be detoured along other city streets.

At the site, known as the Highway 169 Triangle Project, 85th Avenue will be closed from 10 p.m. Monday until Tuesday afternoon, so workers can complete paving work on a temporary bypass for County Road 81 traffic.

During the closure, workers also will replace the old signal at 85th Avenue and County Road 81, to allow for widening of 85th Avenue.

Later next week, all traffic on 85th Avenue will be reduced to a single lane in each direction, on the south side of the current road.

When it is completed, an elevated roadway will carry Hwy. 169 over County Road 81, 85th Avenue and the BNSF railroad tracks in the south end of the triangle. For more information, visit to www.dot.state.mn.us/metro/projects/169triangle.
