8 a.m. update: Current drive times

The drive on the Crosstown and 494 in the south metro has become a painful experience as crashes and the sunup slow downs are making for tough trips.

A crash in eastbound Crosstown at Xerxes has the left lane blocked. On 494, a wreck on the westbound side at Hwy. 212 has traffic crammed while eastbound drivers fighting the sun are in bumper to bumper conditions from Flying Cloud Drive to France Avenue.

Two lanes are blocked on northbound 35W at the downtown exits and that's got traffic creeping along from Diamond Lake Road. You'll need lots of extra time from the Crosstown.

Westbound 694 is unusually plugged from Hwy. 36 to 35E. A wreck on southbound 35E at Little Canada Road has traffic backed up onto 694, which is leading to the delays there.

Eastbound Hwy. 10 from Hwy. 169 to 35W: 14 minutes

Westbound 694 from 35E to Hwy. 252: 14 minutes. Eastbound is 12 minutes.

West metro

Eastbound 94 from Crow River to 494: 27 minutes

Southbound 494 from 94 down to 394: 12 minutes

Southbound Hwy. 169 from I-94 to Crosstown: 19 minutes

Southbound Hwy. 100 from I-94 to Crosstown: 29 minutes

South metro

Northbound 35W from County 42 to Crosstown: 14 minutes To downtown Minneapolis: 27 minutes.

Northbound Cedar Avenue from 35E to the Crosstown: 15 minutes

Northbound 169 from Canterbury Road to 494: 16 minutes

Eastbound Hwy. 212 from Dell Road to Crosstown: 13 minutes

Westbound 494 from Cedar Avenue to Hwy. 100: 11 minutes. Eastbound 494 from Hwy. 169 to 35W: 16 minutes

Westbound Crosstown from Cedar Avenue to Hwy. 169: 15 minutes Eastbound Crosstown from Hwy. 100 to Cedar Avenue: 18 minutes

East metro

Westbound 94 from 35E to the Lowry Hill Tunnel: 13 minutes.
