8 a.m. update: Congestion in the central metro

Traffic is flowing fairly well on the outer loop of 494 and 694 and on highways away from the central core, such as Hwy. 169 and Hwy 100 and Hwy 61. There, things are faster than normal.

Traffic is flowing fairly well on the outer loop of 494 and 694 and on highways away from the central core, such as Hwy. 169 and Hwy 100 and Hwy 61. There, things are faster than normal.

We do have pockets of congestion on eastbound 394 from General Mills Blvd to Dunwoody Blvd.

Southbound 35W is slow from Johnson Street to downtown Minneapolis. Northbound 35W is sputtering along from 50th Street to I-94.

I-94 in both directions between the downtowns is about 15 minutes, with the slowest traffic westbound from Marion Street to Lexington Avenue.
