8:45 a.m. update: Looking better on 35W in Minneapolis

Congestion has finally loosened on southbound 35W from Hennepin Avenue to Lake Street. That segment had been stacked up for more than an hour due to a stall at Lake Street. The stall has cleared.

Congestion has finally loosened on southbound 35W from Hennepin Avenue to Lake Street. That segment had been stacked up for more than an hour due to a stall at Lake Street. The stall has cleared.

The big problem at this hour is the crash in the left lane on westbound 494 at the Minnesota River bridge. It's in the left lane. Traffic jams at Pilot Knob Road.

Look out for the tire sitting in the left lane of southbound 35E at County Road 96 in White Bear Lake.

Elsewhere traffic is moving at the posted speeds or close to them in all but a few places. Prepare for pockets of slow and go traffic on northbound 35W from 50th Street to I-94. The case is the same on Crosstown both directions between Penn Avenue and Hwy. 169.
