8:45 a.m. update: Crash closes Hwy. 61 at Lake City

Highway 61 is temporarily closed north of Lake City because of a crash and traffic is being detoured, according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation.

Highway 61 is temporarily closed north of Lake City because of a crash and traffic is being detoured, according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation.

Southbound Highway 61 traffic is being detoured west at Frontenac on Goodhue County Road 2 to Goodhue County Road 5 to Lake City. Northbound Highway 61 traffic follows the route in reverse.

Highway 61 will remain closed until the Minnesota State Patrol completes its investigation at the scene. State Patrol reports the crash is at mile marker 78 at Staehli Park.
