8:40 a.m. update: A slow slog on 494 in west metro

Into our Monday a little rain must fall, and that is the case in the west metro. The precip along with a stall at Hwy. 7 is enough to make the trip on southbound 494 a tough go. It's a 30-minute ride from the Fish Lake Interchange past the unworking vehicle.

Into our Monday a little rain must fall, and that is the case in the west metro. The precip along with a stall at Hwy. 7 is enough to make the trip on southbound 494 a tough go. It's a 30-minute ride from the Fish Lake Interchange past the unworking vehicle.

Things have improved dramatially on southbound 35E from County Road 14 to downtown St. Paul. All crashes and debris that clogged traffic earlier are gone, and traffic is flowing near the posted speeds once again.

Look out for a crash on eastbound I-94 just east of Hwy. 52. That's not having too much of an impact on traffic.

The flow westbound is sporadic as traffic tries to get up to speed following an earlier wreck at Neal Avenue and the ususal congestion near downtown St. Paul starts to thin out.

Westbound Crosstown has a pocket of congestion between 35W and France Avenue. Plan on 12 to 14 minutes from 28th Avenue over to Hwy. 100.
