8:30 a.m. update: Double your drive time

Many motorists are spending longer in their cars today due to heavy congestion and gridlock in some spots.

Look for some delays on Metro Tranist buses due to the ice on city streets. About 30 percent of routes are up to 5 minutes behind schedule. Trains are running on time.

On the roads, here are some current travel times

Westbound 94 from Manning Avenue to Kellogg Blvd. in St. Paul is 28 minutes. It's another 29 minutes to downtown Minneapolis.

Southbound 35W is 32 minutes from Lake Drive to Hwy. 280.

Southbound 35E is 53 minutes from County Road J to 94.

Northbound Cedar Avenue is 16 minutes from County Road 38 to Crosstown.

Northbound 35W is 16 minutes from County Road 42 to 494.

Northbound 169 is 22minutes from County Road 18 to 494.

Southbound 169 is 48 minutes from 94 to Crosstown.

Southbound 494 is 28 minutes from 94 to 394.

Westbound Hwy. 36 is 26 minutes from White Bear Avenue to Hwy. 280.

Southbound Hwy. 100 from 94 to 394 is 26 minutes.

Eastbound 94 from Hwy. 101 to 494 is 19 minutes.

Southbound 94 from 694 to the Lowry Hill Tunnel is 20 minutes.
