8:25 a.m. update: Hwy. 212 still closed in Eden Prairie

Major traffic jams still persist on eastbound Hwy. 212 as the highway is shut down as the result of a police chase that occurred just before 8 a.m.

Major traffic jams still persist on eastbound Hwy. 212 as the highway is shut down as the result of a police chase that occurred just before 8 a.m.

Eastbound traffic is being diverted off Hwy. 212 at Hwy. 101. Westbound traffic is being diverted off at Dell Road.

The closure has led to heavy traffic on Hwy. 5 and Flying Cloud Drive as commuters use alternate routes.

Here are the other trouble spots on the system

Left lane blocked at southbound Hwy. 100 at 50th Street in Edina

Northbound 35W at Lake Street. Crash is off on the right shoulder.

Stall blocking right shoulder on southbound 35E at 494 in Eagan.

Crash on eastbound 494 at 12th Avenue in Bloomington.
