With snow predicted to fall during Thursday's morning rush hour and black ice creating havoc on Monday and Tuesday, this was supposed to be the best commute of the week.

It is not turning out to be that. Numerous crashes this morning have bogged down the drive to work, and they just keep coming. Here is a list of the latest:

  • Eastbound Hwy. 10 at Ferry Street in Anoka
    • Southbound 35W at County 96 in Shoreview/New Brighton
      • Westbound Hwy. 36 at Fairview Avenue. That crash just cleared but traffic is still jammed
        • Westbound Crosstown at Hwy. 100 and Tracy Avenue in Edina
          • Westbound 94 on the north end of the Lowry Hill Tunnel
            • Westbound 494 at 35E in Eagan. There is another crash at France Avenue
              • Southbound 35W at 66th Street in Richfield

As an eviction crisis has seemed increasingly likely this summer, everyone in the housing market has made the same plea to Washington: Send money — lots of it — that would keep renters in their homes and landlords afloat.
