8:20 a.m. update: Gridlock continues on Hwy. 100 in St. Louis Park

A dump truck with a broken axel has a lane blocked on the ramp from westbound 394 to southbound Hwy. 100. That' all it takes to jam traffic in the area. The truck has been there for 30 minutes, so no wonder we still have gridlock from Glenwood to Excelsior Blvd. That is a good 10 minute wait.

Westbound 94 is still suffering due to earlier crashes at Radio Drive in Woodbury and Mounds Blvd. in St. Paul. The trip is still at 19 minutes. Continuing into Minneapolis? Look for a stall in the left lane at Lexington Avenue.

Look for improving conditons on southbound 35W from the Forest Lake Split into downtown Minneapolis. Trip time has dropped to 28 minutes. It had been near 40 earlier this morning.

As an eviction crisis has seemed increasingly likely this summer, everyone in the housing market has made the same plea to Washington: Send money — lots of it — that would keep renters in their homes and landlords afloat.
