8:10 a.m. update: Ice, need we say more

Slick roads have contributed to more than 30 crashes this morning, with the worst on 494 and 35.

A bit of good news before the bad. A crash on southbound 494 at Rockford Road has cleared. And one on westbound 494 at Carver has been pushed off to the right shoulder.

Now the ugly news: We've got nearly 20 crashes still working on the system, and that's adding up to a half hour to most people's drives.

I 494 in both directions is among the slowest in the metro. It's 30 to 35 minutes between the Minnesota River and Hwy. 169. In the east, things are still tangled from 694 to Concord. We've had five accidents in that stretch.

Southbound 494 is 70 minutes from 94 to Hwy. 7.

The Crosstown is jammed in both directions from 28th Avenue to Hwy. 169. That's at least 20 minutes in each direction.

Our latest crash in on southbound Hwy. 280 at Como Avenue.
