It's gridlock of epic proportions on a number of routes in the north and east metro, all stemming from a crash and officer-involved shooting that has both directions fo 694 shut down between I-35W and I-35E.

Southbound 35W is barely moving from 95th Avenue down to County Road 88, a trip that is now taking 44 minutes.

Eastbound Hwy. 10 is parked from University Avenue to I-35W. The best advice is to get off on Central Avenue and take that down to 694.

Westbound 94 is a log jam from Manning Avenue to downtown St. Paul. A wreck at Hwy. 52 has the left shoulder blocked.

Westbound Hwy. 36 is moving decent despite absorbing lots of the 694 traffic. Plan on 20 minutes from Century Avenue over to 35W.

In Maple Grove, eastbound 94 is crawling from Hwy. 101 to the Fish Lake Interchange. The Elm Creek Rest Area is closed as police investigate a homicide that started this whole chain of events that led to the 694 closing.

Eastbound 494 at Hwy. 169 is dealing with a crash as is the intersection of 494 and Dodd Road in Eagan. No kids were on this school bus that collided with a couple vehicles.

As an eviction crisis has seemed increasingly likely this summer, everyone in the housing market has made the same plea to Washington: Send money — lots of it — that would keep renters in their homes and landlords afloat.
