A 77-year-old man died Wednesday night in a fire at his North Branch home.
Donald Jarvis was found dead in his home in the 36900 block of Falcon Avenue after police and firefighters responded to a report of a fire at approximately 9:40 p.m., according to North Branch police.
Authorities arrived at the scene to find the house fully engulfed by flames. One neighbor described hearing an explosion that sounded like a car crash.
The house burned for more than two hours.
The Harris and Stacy fire departments, Lake Region Emergency Medical Services and the Chisago County Sheriff's Office assisted at the scene. The state fire marshal and Midwest Medical Examiner's Office are investigating.
