7 a.m. update: Pockets of congestion forming

Commuters on northbound Hwy. 52/Hwy. 55 from 117th Avenue up to the Hwy. 52/55 split in Inver Grove Heights are enduring another frustrating day of delays as the single lane configuration due to road work has traffic nose to nose through that 3- to 4-mile stretch.

It's getting crowded on southbound 35W from Lexington Avenue down to I-694. That drive is now at 15 to 17 minutes.

Traffic is losing speed on westbound 94 from Hwy. 61 into downtown St. Paul while northbound 35W sputters, gains speed and then slows again between Burnsville Pkwy. up to 82nd Street in Bloomington.

Police are looking for the driver involved in a hit-and-run crash on Hwy. 252 near 73rd Avenue in Brooklyn Park. Reports are the perp exited southbound 94 at the 49th Avenue exit.
