7 a.m. update: Current drive times

The toughest drive by far continues to be on southbound I-35W from Blaine to downtown Minneapolis. An earlier crash at SE. 8th Street and another at University Avenue tangled traffic, and things have yet to shake loose. A new wreck at Hwy. 280 is adding to the misery. Southbound Hwy. 280 is moving much faster.

Look for a pocket of congestion on eastbound 94 between Albertville and Rogers. For westbound 94 drivers, speeds drop between Hwy. 61 and downtown St. Paul.

For commuters on northbound Hwy. 169, a crash at Anderson Lake Pkwy. is adding a few minutes to the drive. Plan on 13 minutes from Canterbury Road up to 494.

Southbound 35W from 95th Avenue to downtown Minneapolis: 45 minutes and rising due to crashes.

Southbound 35E from County J to I-94: 16 minutes.

Westbound 694 from 35E to Hwy. 252: 10 minutes. Eastbound is 10 minutes.

West metro

Eastbound 94 from Hwy. 101 to 494: 10 minutes

Southbound 494 from 94 down to 394: 8 minutes

Eastbound 394 from 494 to 35W via 94: 10 minutes

Southbound Hwy. 100 from I-94 to Crosstown: 14 minutes

South metro

Northbound 35W from County 42 to Crosstown: 10 minutes To downtown Minneapolis: 18 minutes.

Northbound Cedar Avenue from 35E to the Crosstown: 10 minutes

Northbound 35E from County 42 to downtown St. Paul: 17 minutes

Eastbound Hwy. 212 from Dell Road to Crosstown: 11 minutes

Westbound 494 from Cedar Avenue to Hwy. 100: 7 minutes. Eastbound 494 from Hwy. 169 to 35W: 8 minutes

Westbound Crosstown from Cedar Avenue to Hwy. 169: 8 minutes Eastbound Crosstown from Hwy. 100 to Cedar Avenue: 7 minutes
