Commuters in the south metro are feeling the pain of road work and crashes, slowing the commute to a crawl on northbound 35W and to a standstill on northbound Hwy. 169.

Road work on the Bloomington Ferry Bridge has traffic reduced to a single lane in both directions from Old Shakopee Road and Hwy. 101. Traffic has been backed up beyond Canterbury Road for much of the morning with some delays of 30 to 40 minutes.

Over on northbound 35W, a crash at County Road 46 in Lakeville, another at 50th Street in Minneapolis and an earlier wreck at the downtown exits has led to a 40-minute commute from the southern burbs to downtown Minneapolis.

Coming down from the north 35W is tight in the area of Stinson Blvd. due to a wreck. Traffic slows at Hwy. 36.

I-494 through Bloomington is about 15 minutes each direction from Hwy. 169 to Cedar Avenue.

A crash on westbound Crosstown at Penn Avenue has traffic slow in the area. Plan on 15 minutes each direction from Hwy. 169 over to Cedar Avenue.
