7:50 a.m. update: Five-mile back up on 694 in northern suburbs

Commuters will be better served if they can avoid westbound 694 from Little Canada to Brooklyn Center. A good alternate, if it's close to you, would be to take Hwy. 610.

Commuters will be better served if they can avoid westbound 694 from Little Canada to Brooklyn Center. A good alternate, if it's close to you, would be to take Hwy. 610.

A guard rail repair project at Hwy. 252 has the left lane of 694 closed and traffic is bumper to bumper from Hwy. 10 past the scene.

This project will be underway until early afternoon, MnDOT says.
