7:40 a.m. update: Painfully slow on Cedar Av, 494 in south metro

Congestion just won't loosen on westbound 494 in the south metro. Look for packed conditions from Lake Road in Woodbury over to Hwy. 52. Things loosen a bit over to Cedar Avenue, but bumper to bumper conditions kick back in. A stall at Hwy. 100 and a crash at Lyndale Avenue have just cleared, so hopefully that will help the flow pick up the pace.

Congestion just won't loosen on westbound 494 in the south metro. Look for packed conditions from Lake Road in Woodbury over to Hwy. 52. Things loosen a bit over to Cedar Avenue, but bumper to bumper conditons kick back in. A stall at Hwy. 100 and a crash at Lyndale Avenue have just cleared, so hopefully that will help the flow pick up the pace.

Northbound Cedar Avenue is jammed from 127th Street up to the Minnesota River bridge. A wreck taking out the left lane at Hwy. 13 is gone but a new one at 35E is making things a mess.

Northbound 35E is a tough drive from Lone Oak Road past a wreck at Wagon Wheel Trail.

In the north metro, southbound 35W had been miserable all morning. The latest incidents are at Lexington Avenue with the left lane blocked.

As an eviction crisis has seemed increasingly likely this summer, everyone in the housing market has made the same plea to Washington: Send money — lots of it — that would keep renters in their homes and landlords afloat.
