7:35 a.m. update: Crawling on 35E in Maplewood and St. Paul

Crashes on southbound 35E between 694 and downtown St. Paul always cause havoc. An earlier wreck at Maryland has cleared, but traffic remains tight from 694 to the 94 interchange. From Little Canada Road to downtown St. Paul is running, ur crawling, at 13 minutes.

In St. Louis Park, the stall on southbound Hwy. 100 at Excelsior Blvd. has traffic bunched up from Hwy. 55 to 36th Avenue. Plan on 10 minutes through that area. Northbound 100 flows freely from 494 up to Excelsior Blvd, with a minor slow down from there up to 394.

An incident with no impact on traffic: A vehicle is in the ditch and a couple others on the right shoulder of northbound 35W just before the Forest Lake Split.

As an eviction crisis has seemed increasingly likely this summer, everyone in the housing market has made the same plea to Washington: Send money — lots of it — that would keep renters in their homes and landlords afloat.
