7:30 a.m. update: Just the usual slow ups

With roads in fine shape and normal traffic volumes, things are moving quite well on most area freeways and highways.

We have no big time delays, just the ususal stop and go conditions on routes such as southbound 35W through the northern suburbs, westbound 94 approaching downtown St. Paul, Crosstown between Hwy. 169 and 35W and westbound 494 from Cedar Avenue to Hwy. 100.

The one spot where things are not moving is on Hwy. 36 in the Lake Elmo/Stillwater area. The road is shut down in both directions at Manning Avenue as the State Patrol reconstructs a serious injury accident that happened earlier this morning.

Word is that westbound traffic is backed up to Hwy. 5
