It's near gridlock in some places and in others traffic is moving at a snail's pace. The combination of snow-packed and icy roads along with the usual congestion had commuters spending double and triple the normal time on the roads.

It's near gridlock in some places and in others traffic is moving at a snail's pace. The combination of snow-packed and icy roads along with the usual congestion had commuters spending double and triple the normal time on the roads.

Metro Transit says buses are 4 minutes late or less on 25 percent of its routes.

Here are some of the crashes snarling traffic at this hour:

Westbound 494 at Hwy. 169

Northbound Cedar Avenue at 35E

Westbound Crosstown at Cedar Avenue. Eastbound there is a crash at Penn Avenue

Southbound 494 at Hwy. 55. Major backup begins at Bass Lake Road.

Westbound 94 at Franklin Avenue.
