7:10 a.m. update: A viscos trip along I-35 in Lakeville

I-35 from County 2 to the Burnsville Split is like thick oil in the engine. It's not moving at all. Travel times are estimated at 35 to 40 minutes. The better news is that once commuters hit the Burnsville Split, traffic is back to full speed and moves swiftly into downtown Minneapolis or downtown St. Paul.

The rest of the system is accident and incident free. Look for a brief delay on southbound Hwy. 252 at 694 where we had an earlier crash.

Drivers on southbound 35W will experience pockets of stop and go traffic from 95th Avenue down to County Road 96. Ahead, plan on 15 minutes to reach downtown Minneapolis.
