An albratross documented at least 60 years old has been seen on Midway Atoll Nationala Wildlife Refuge. The report comes from Chuck Hagner, editor of BirdWatching magazine. He wrote, "A few weeks ago, the oldest known wild bird in the Northern Hemisphere was spotted at Midway Atoll NWR. The bird, a female Laysan Albatross, is at least 60 years old -- and as you can see from the photo on our blog, she's a new mother.

The blog address is http://bit.ly/hTaio4. You'll find photo and a story.

The bird looks very good for being a mother at that age. It's really pretty amazing.

Formerly known as Birder' World, the newly named BirdWatching magazine's web site is at http://www.birdwatchingdaily.com/
