Early morning motorists are sailing right along on metro area highways and freeways, with no major delays or accidents on the system at this hour.

As a reminder, here are a few big construction projects that will likely impact traffic:

The ramp from northbound 494 to eastbound 394 is now closed until noon on May 18th while repairs are being made to a broken water main.

Work on the Park and Portland Avenue bridges over I-94 began Monday. Those bridges will be closed until August. If the traffic jam on Chicago Avenue is anything like early yesterday afternoon, it's going to be a big headache and a long summer.

Southbound I-35E is closed at County Road 42 for bridge repair. That will last until June 2.

On I-94, look for the left lane to be shut down in both directions between Century Avenue and I-694.

As an eviction crisis has seemed increasingly likely this summer, everyone in the housing market has made the same plea to Washington: Send money — lots of it — that would keep renters in their homes and landlords afloat.
