6:55 a.m. update: Stacked up on 494 in Newport

Commuters on westbound 494 passing through Newport are spending lots of extra time in their vehicles. At least four vehicles are blocking the left and right shoulders at Hardman Avenue. The delays begin back at Bailey Road and 494 resembles a parking lot.

Commuters on westbound 494 passing through Newport are spending lots of extra time in their vehicles. At least four vehicles are blocking the left and right shoulders at Hardman Avenue. The delays begin back at Bailey Road and 494 resembles a parking lot.

Also in Cottage Grove, there is a crash on southbound Hwy. 61 at 80th Street.

On westbound 94, things are starting to shake loose a bit now that a wreck at Johnson Pkwy. has cleared. Things are still heavy from McKnight Road to downtown St. Paul.

It's ugly on westbound Hwy. 36. A lane-blocking crash at Fairview Avenue has finally been pushed off to the right shoulder, but traffic remains thick from Dale Street past the scene.
