6:40 a.m. update: Awful on 35W in northern suburbs

The rain and a couple of accidents on southbound 35W has made the commute unbearable. It's already 40 minutes from 95th Avenue to downtown Minneapolis. A rollover at Hwy. 280 has been cleared, so with all lanes now open, hopefully that will help traffic recover.

The rain and a couple of accidents on southbound 35W has made the commute unbearable. It's already 40 minutes from 95th Avenue to downtown Minneapolis. A rollover at Hwy. 280 has been cleared, so with all lanes now open, hopefully that will help traffic recover.

On the northbound side at Hwy. 280, look for a spinout blocking a lane.

Eastbound 94 is struggling from Lowry Avenue to Hwy. 280. A crash at Plymouth Avenue and another at Riverside Avenue is enough to cause the slow down.

This just in. A crash on Snelling Avenue just south of I-694 in Arden Hills.

Westbound 494 is sluggish from Cedar Avenue to 35W. A lot of that backup was caused by an earlier car fire at 35W.

And prepare to ride the brakes on westbound 94 heading into downtown St. Paul. The jam is on from Hwy. 61 over to 35E.

As an eviction crisis has seemed increasingly likely this summer, everyone in the housing market has made the same plea to Washington: Send money — lots of it — that would keep renters in their homes and landlords afloat.
