6:35 a.m. update: Current drive times

It's a major mess in Newport where a semitrailer truck carrying coal overturned on northbound Hwy. 61 at I-494. As a result, the northbound lanes are now closed and traffic is being diverted onto eastbound 494. No traffic is allowed on the ramp from eastbound 494 to northbound Hwy. 61.

The truck spilled its load just after 6 a.m. The highway is covered with coal and oil leaking from the truck. This problem will be in place for several hours.

Elsewhere, look for a crash on eastbound Crosstown in the Hwy. 121/Lyndale Avenue area
