6:30 a.m. update: Wet and wild on the roads

The rain and congestion is making for a slow drive in many places, and in the first hour of the rush we've already had five crashes.

The latest is on westbound 494 where a car tangled with a semitrailer truck.

A vehicle spun out on the ramp from southbound 35W to 82nd Street. Roads are wet and slick in some places.

Long drives are forming on southbound 35W as things are packed from 95th Avenue to 694. That is 20 minutes.

Eastbound Hwy. 10 is also very slow from Central Avenue to 35W. Some of that is due to a crash on 35W at Hwy. 10.

I-694 westbound is struggling with crashes at Univeristy and Central avenues. Plan on an extra 10 minutes to get over to Brooklyn Blvd.
