A combination of track maintenance and extra freight traffic caused the first Northstar run from Big Lake to Minneapolis to be 25 minutes behind schedule.

The next four runs should be on time, Metro Transit said. The agency will run trains on the outbound tracks to avoid any further delays, said spokesman Drew Kerr.
