While I-694 seems to be getting all the attention, drivers on Hwy. 36 will be dealing with lane restrictions and road closings of their own.

Already the highway is completely shut down from White Bear Avenue to Hwy. 61 as MnDOT builds an interchange at English Street.

To the east, Hwy. 36 is down to a single lane from Oakgreen Avenue in Stillwater to Osgood Avenue in Oak Park Heights.

And starting today, westbound Hwy. 36 will be a single lane from Hwy. 61 to Edgerton Street as crews begin work on rebuilding the Keller Lake bridge.

On a happier note, the Stillwater Lift Bridge is back open for both vehicles and water traffic. The cable that frayed on Sunday was replaced much quicker than anticipated.
