Circus trains

Inspired by the Circus World Museum in Baraboo, Wis., Twin Cities Model Railroad hosts a Circus Train exhibit this weekend. The O-scale model has festive displays and a staged parade with a whirring circus train that rolls throughout the layout. 10 a.m.-5 p.m. today; noon-5 p.m. Sun. $10, ages 4 and under free. Dog day

Grab the pooch and the kids for a day of art fun. For the California Building's second Saturday open studios event, dogs are welcome. Take a self-guided tour and visit with local artists. Families and flowers

The vibrant hues and fragrances of flowers will fill the Minneapolis Art Institute for Art in Bloom. Walk through the galleries and take in the breathtaking floral displays that complement works of art. Sunday is family day with special arts activities. Egg hunt

The lawn of the James J. Hill House is hiding a plethora of eggs for children to find. Celebrate the birth of spring with an outdoor egg hunt as the Hill children did in 1898.
