The new crossover ramp on Hwy. 52 at the Lafayette Bridge is open, and that brings a new speed limit and lane configurations for drivers.

Watch for the signs directing traffic to I-94 and to W. 7th Street. It's a big change from the past so beware of late lane changers and slow traffic as drivers get used to the new configuration. Stay to the right to reach downtown St. Paul, and left to get on I-94.

All vehicles or vehicle combinations of 35 feet or longer will be prohibited from crossing the Mississippi River on the Lafayette Bridge and must exit prior to or at Plato Blvd.

Also on Hwy. 52, the ramp from the southbound lanes to southbound I-35E will remain closed through May 6 as crews make pavement, drainage and curb and gutter improvements to it.
