5:50 a.m. update: Single lane today on Hwy. 7

Within the next few minutes, eastbound Hwy. 7 between Texas Avenue and Wooddale Avenue will be reduced to a single lane. That reduction will be in place from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m. today. The closure is needed as crews continue work on the Hwy 7/Louisiana Avenue interchange project, which is scheduled to be completed in November.

Meanwhile, a few people have asked about the road work on Hwy. 100. For now, it's just prep work for a big project that will be in full swing next summer. There should not be any big traffic impacts this fall except for a couple weekend closures as a railroad bridge is knocked down in September.
