A giant sinkhole the developed Friday forced authorities to close the intersection of Johnson Pkwy. and Phalen Blvd. That closure is still in place as repairs to a sewer line the failed.

A giant sinkhole the developed Friday forced authorities to close the intersection of Johnson Pkwy. and Phalen Blvd. That closure is still in place as repairs to a sewer line the failed.

Here is the detour information from the St. Paul Public Works Department:

-- Eastbound Phalen Boulevard is routed to Arcade Street to Maryland Avenue with a hard closure just east of the bakery drive entrance.

-- Westbound Phalen Boulevard is routed along Maryland Avenue to Arcade Street. Access to businesses adjacent to this area is still possible.

-- Southbound Johnson Parkway is closed at Maryland Avenue and routed west to Arcade Street.

-- Northbound Johnson is detoured to eastbound 7th to White Bear Avenue, back to Maryland Avenue. Access is maintained north of 7th with a hard closure at Magnolia Avenue
