GILBERT, Minn. — Authorities have removed 44 cats from a house in Gilbert — and they say more may still be inside.

The Mesabi Daily News reports (http://bit.ly/12AqCtg ) that police executed a search warrant at the house on Michigan Avenue about noon Saturday after they got a complaint about numerous cats in the residence.

Gilbert Police Chief Ty Techar says officers found many cats inside, and 44 of them were removed. The owner of the house is cooperating.

The investigation is ongoing.
