A southern Minnesota trucker was sentenced to 40 years in prison for having sex with a 14-year-old girl on interstate trips and using a video camera to produce pornography involving the girl.

Kenneth Leon Wilcox, 44, of Truman, was sentenced Tuesday in U.S. District Court in Minneapolis. Judge Michael J. Davis also ordered that he receive lifetime supervision upon release.

Wilcox's attorney argued for 20 years' imprisonment. He said Wilcox was sexually abused as a child, grew up in numerous unstable homes and became an alcoholic. The defense also argued that Wilcox was remorseful and was getting professional help for sexual addiction.

Wilcox admitted in a plea agreement that he had sex with the child on several occasions during numerous trips from Minnesota to others states in 2007 and 2008. His criminal history includes a conviction for domestic abuse, and his victim and her mother obtained orders for protection against him.
