A man who worked as a professional engineer for 11 years without a license was fined $40,000 and may not apply for licensure for at least four years, according to a regulatory-board order made public Wednesday.
Mark Deady, whose license expired in 2000, didn't notify the engineering firm, at which he was a principal, of his license status until May 2011, the Minnesota Board of Architecture, Engineering, Land Surveying, Landscape Architecture, Geoscience and Interior Design found.
When the Minneapolis man reinstated his license in June 2011, he stated that he hadn't done work requiring a license.
Deady later admitted he worked on projects such as "Expert Reports and Engineering Study," and had business cards describing himself as a "PE," the order stated.
