4-year-old boy pulled from pool at Minneapolis hotel

The child was hospitalized in critical condition at HCMC.

A 4-year-old boy was pulled from a swimming pool at a downtown Minneapolis hotel Thursday afternoon and was hospitalized in critical condition.

According to the Hennepin County Sheriff's Office, first responders were called to a possible drowning at the Best Western Normandy Inn & Suites at 405 S. 8th St. about 2:30 p.m. Thursday.

The boy was unresponsive when pulled from the pool, the Sheriff's Office said. CPR was administrated and he was taken to Hennepin County Medical Center, where he was listed in critical condition.

The Hennepin County Sheriff's Office Water Patrol and detectives are investigating.
