FORT BRAGG, N.C. — Four jurors seated for the court-martial of a U.S. Army general facing sexual misconduct charges have been dismissed.
Col. James Pohl told the court Thursday that because the jurors knew a potential witness in the case, they could be deemed biased. That means four new jurors will have to be found for the Sept. 30 trial of Brig. Gen. Jeffrey Sinclair.
A minimum of five jurors is needed.
Eight potential jurors already have been excused because they either knew Sinclair, other jurors or witnesses in the case.
Sinclair has pleaded not guilty to eight charges that include forcible sodomy, indecent acts, violating orders and adultery.
