4:30 p.m. update: Tough going in north, better in the south metro

The snow let up in the south metro long before the north metro, and perhaps, that is helping the situation in places such as Bloomington, Eagan, Cottage Grove and other suburbs south of I-494.

The snow let up in the south metro long before the north metro, and perhaps, that is helping the situation in places such as Bloomington, Eagan, Cottage Grove and other suburbs south of I-494.

Travel times are better in the south metro, but some places still are crawling along. Southbound 169 is clogged from Bren Road to County Road 18.

It's still nose to nose on eastbound 494 from East Bush Lake Road over to Lyndale Avenue. Westbound is creeping from Nicollet Avenue to Hwy. 169.

Southbound Cedar Avenue and 35W from 494 down to 35E is moving reasonablly well, with 25 to 30 minutes needed.

In the north, nothing is moving on Hwy. 100 in either direction from 394 to the Crosstown. That is 20 to 25 minutes.

Northbound 494 is plugged from Crosstown to Bass Lake Road. Plan on 30 minutes or more

The worst drive is on northbound Hwy. 169. It's crammed from Crosstown up to I-94. That is at 45 minutes or more.

Northbound and westbound 94 from downtown Minneapolis to Hwy. 169 is at 36 minutes.

Northbound Hwy. 100 stinks from Crosstown to 394 in both directions. That is 20 to 25 minutes.

FILE -- A rent deposit slot at an apartment complex in Tucker, Ga., on July 21, 2020. As an eviction crisis has seemed increasingly likely this summer, everyone in the housing market has made the same plea to Washington: Send money — lots of it — that would keep renters in their homes and landlords afloat.
