LONDON — Britain's Ministry of Defense says a third soldier has died from injuries sustained in a training exercise in Wales earlier this month.

The soldier had been hospitalized following the exercise on the Brecon Beacons mountain range in South Wales, which killed two other reservists.

The defense ministry on Tuesday announced the third reservist's death but did not provide further details. The ministry said only that the serviceman's family has asked for a grace period before he is named.

The ministry has said it is investigating what happened during the exercise.

The Brecon Beacons is one of several locations the British military uses for training. The army's website says the area's rugged landscape is demanding and can prepare soldiers for circumstances in the field.
